We Made It!!!!!

Yes, we made it!!!

We are only running 2 days behind schedule but, for those of you who know my mom, I know that does NOT surprise you!!!!!

We ended up leaving Birmingham Thursday afternoon around 5:00 and made it to the Cracker Barrel in Moody before the storm caught us.  Special thanks to Paul (and his 51 cousins) for his hospitality!  We headed to Atlanta when the rain "let up" but that did not last and we ended up driving through Atlanta in the rain, in the dark.  My mom was FREAKING OUT!  We stopped at the Cracker Barrel just on the other side of Atlanta in Conyers, GA when we realized the service engine light came on.

The next morning the great folks at Courtesy Ford checked everything out.  Jay Barksdale, the general manager, certainly lived up to the company name - courteous. Turned out to be a bug that had gotten sucked into the air filter and stuck to the sensor.  Praise the Lord that it was nothing!!  God has a funny way of working things out.  Jay Miles was the tech that worked on the RV.  He was actually supposed to be off that day.  He even helped us connect with some other people on down the way on our trip.  Justin Hall was terrific.  He located the RV's brains when 3 other people had turned up nothing.

We arrived at Ocean Lakes RV community Friday evening after stopping at the MB Visitors Connection.  Bonnie made us feel welcome to Myrtle Beach!!! The fact that it was pitch black did not stop me from going to the beach!!!!  Went for a run and may have overdone things a bit because I ended up throwing up. It just kind of goes along with the territory when you have UC-for me anyways.  And, oh yeah, my mom stepped on a jelly fish.  It was about 5" around.  Met 2 people that had been recently diagnosed with UC and one that had spastic colitis.

We left Myrtle Beach this morning after dipping my back tire in the Atlantic Ocean.  It was an overwhelming feeling - to know that this really was happening and that this journey is ahead of me!
Kudos to Terry Perritt at Larrimore's Deer Processing(843-362-2111) in Britton's Neck, SC for his hospitality.  We arrived in Johnsonville around 6:00.  Special thanks goes out to Rebecca-the manager of McDonalds for her words of encouragement.
